MEETING PICEach CED Profit center offers a number of opportunities for the growth-oriented individual. CED provides a challenging atmosphere to learn all aspects of the electrical wholesale distribution business.

CED employees participate in the profitability of their particular Profit Center. Employee pride, care and teamwork are by-products of this Profit Sharing concept.

Internal Audit
Internal Audit serves all levels of management by reviewing and testing the control aspects of accounting, financial administration, and operating activities.

A skilled auditor has the ability to analyze procedures to ascertain that adequate controls are functioning as intended, and to detect abuses or conditions that might result in losses to the company. For the individual who enjoys traveling, working independently, and assisting field personnel, Internal Audit provides many opportunities for challenge and growth.

Candidates should have strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, posses strong analytical capabilities, and have a Bachelors degree in a business related field. This position requires 40%-50% travel throughout the United States. Audit Experience is not necessary.

Profit Center Manager
Due to CED's philosophy of decentralization, each Profit Center Manager has the responsibility for the overall direction of that location. Inventory control, sales, operations, personnel and asset management are among the issues that the entrepreneurially-minded managers face each day. Click here for information

Warehouse Operations
Successful Profit Center operations rely on an organized, efficient warehouse to provide quality customer service. CED warehouse personnel control the flow of products from the warehouse to the customers. Duties include receiving, filling orders, shipping and delivery of inventory.

Counter Sales
Counter Specialists combine product knowledge with sales and communication skills to provide a high level of Customer Service. Responsibilities beyond sales include display merchandising, promotions, product applications and substitutions. A skilled counter person has the ability to assess customer needs quickly and fulfill them accurately.

Purchasing Agents
Inventory management is a vital function of an effective Profit Center. It is the P.A.'s responsibility to analyze product usage and make recommendations on new products, order quantities, and vendor returns. In order to be successful, they must be skillful in the art of negotiation. In addition, they must be able to communicate effectively with other Profit center personnel and vendor representatives as to the needs and problems of CED's customers.

Inside Sales
These Profit Center-based salespeople must continually upgrade product knowledge to integrate information between salespeople, customers and vendors. Besides being a a telemarketing specialist for a number of assigned accounts, they must also be able to act as a project manager. Insides salespeople coordinate with other Profit Center personnel on ordering, shipping and customer feedback. Their primary function is to develop and process customer orders.

Outside Sales
CED outside salespeople have the responsibility for continuing to service established customer bases while developing new contractor, industrial and commercial sales territories. Seminars and literature help keep these sales professionals updated on the latest products and their applications. Outside salespeople are able to start from blueprint specifications and develop quotations into a complete job information package.
